12 Month Pictures!

I have to say a HUGE thank you to Becky Kudelka! She did an awesome job taking pictures for us and she met us very early on a Saturday when she has her own little one to tend to. Thank you Becky! I am in love, love, love with these pictures! Here are just a few of the gems we took in less than 30 minutes. :) In case you are wondering, we are having a Dr. Seuss themed 1st Birthday, that is where the Thing 1, 2 and 3 come into the picture (the characters from The Cat in the Hat). Grammy made the tutus and bows and I made the custom onesies. They are "things" 1, 2 and 3 according to birth order. Addie was 1st, Reagan 2nd and Baylee 3rd. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday, Sarah!

The girls and I just had to help Sarah celebrate her 21st birthday this week. Sarah is our mother's helper/babysitter/nanny...whatever you want to call her we just know we love her and the girls love her! Sarah had the big 2-1 on Monday and since the girls are having their big 1 year in a little over a week, we thought we'd celebrate with Sarah and have a little practice digging into the sweets! :)
Sarah, blowing out the candles on her cupcakes!

Reagan, hesitant at first...one finger in the icing Addie going with two fingers and a thumb... Baylee starting with her thumb in the icing... Addie going for the full-face approach :)

Baylee getting into her cupcake... Reagan loving it!
Good thing it is almost bathtime
Addison...cutie cupcake face!
The aftermath...;) so messy but so much fun

So Much Better!

This week has started out so much better than last week. Whew! For a while there I was thinking they would never get better.
So far this week we have....

Visited with the doggies
(excuse the extremely dirty windows from muddy puppy paws) :)

And helped Mommy make breakfast!

This week is only going to get better! Grammy is coming into town and we just can't wait! She is going to love on her girls (me included :) and help me make some cute party favors for the girls' birthday party coming up in a few weeks.

We are also having our Supper Club over Thursday night for a cookout which is always a ton of fun and laughs and a few adult beverages.

Then on Saturday, we are having the girls' 1 year pictures taken and I have already warned their Daddy that this is going to be fun! and our attitude about pictures makes things so much easier on everyone. Picture day shouldn't be a dreaded occassion. :) It will be quick and painless and wonderful for everyone...and Grammy will be here to help us wrangle babies to get the right shots. Fingers crossed!

Our HORRIBLE Week!

This pretty much sums up how our week has been...

That's right, Baylee, this week has really sucked!

Monday - Sick, sick, sick! All three girls are so sick and just miserable. Here's Reagan laying on me before their doctor's appointment on Monday. Poor baby! She felt awful! The imprint on her cheek is from laying on a button on my robe. :) Sweet baby...

Tuesday - Girls still really sick, but Gran comes over to help me with them so it provides a bright light and some relief.
Wednesday - Brent takes some of his buddies to the Rangers game Wednesday night and I have the Supper Club girls over for pizza and laughs...but there was no laughing while I was trying to get the triplets to bed. It was pretty much the worst night I have had trying to get them to bed without Brent here. Addie's separation and stranger anxieties have hit an all time high. If she sees someone she doesn't recognize, she instantly starts bawling...if that person tries to pick her up to hold her to make her feel better she loses it and starts to almost hyperventilate. It's really bad. So by the time I got to the point of feeding Addie and putting her down for bed, she was all worked up from the "new" people in the house and she wouldn't calm down. She was SO worked up that after I rocked her and fed her on the floor of the nursery she proceeded to projectile vomit all over me when I tried to put her down for bed. She was clinging to my shirt for dear life. I had to sit and rock her until she was almost asleep and then put her to bed and she STILL cried when I finally left the room.
Oh, and to add to all of this, the girls had horrible diarrhea starting today. Not sure what caused this but we want it to go away and fast! Baylee has the most sensitive skin you have ever seen. The first sign of diarrhea and her little bottom is raw from diaper rash. You can't change her diaper fast enough...it just gets worse and worse the longer the diarrhea lasts.
Thursday - Sickness and diarrhea continue and Gran comes over to help me with the girls again, thank the Lord!
Friday - Surprise! We have fleas in the house! I know, FLEAS! We don't even have dogs in the house, EVER! After I freak out about fleas, Brent arranges to have the house treated tomorrow morning and take the dogs to get their shots and get flea treatments as well. I have to have the girls out of the house for at least 4 hours after they treat so we are headed to Gran and Grandaddy's house while Brent takes care of our little problem. Ohhhhh, I can't wait for this week to be over and for our babies to start feeling a lot better.
Oh! and our disposal in the kitchen went out....and then proceeded to start leaking under the sink...GREAT! So, Brent's project on a Friday night, hop under the sink and change out the disposal. Happy weekend, honey! Are you relaxed yet?

My Handyman!

After only 1 trip to Home Depot, Brent returns and just starts laughing. I walked into the kitchen thinking there was a problem. Brent shows me that the vase he used to catch water under the sink has a big ole smiley face on it. It is funny when you think about it. You are doing plumbing on a Friday night, this is taking longer than you expected and you are getting a little stressed out and there is that big smiley face staring at you saying, "Don't worry...be happy" Haha! How could you be in a bad mood after that?

3 Sick Chicks!

My sweet little chick-a-dees are sick! :( Yesterday morning when I woke the girls up, Baylee was in a VERY BAD MOOD...I mean BAD. That isn't like her at all. She is usually happy go lucky and bouncing around in the mornings. I checked her head and she had a low fever so I attributed her fussiness to teething and thought she might be getting a new tooth.
About an hour into our morning, Reagan started to catch the bad mood bug. They were both hanging off of me and wanted to be in my lap laying on me all morning. Reagan had a low fever too, so I gave her some meds like I had given Baylee and put everyone down for their nap.
After their nap, Addie, caught the bug and was sooo fussy. She had a fever too and I thought, "there is no way they are all teething on the exact same day, something must be really wrong. Ear infections maybe?" At one point Addie laid down on the floor of the playroom and just shut her eyes while I stroked her hair with my hand and she never does that. So, at that point, I called the doctor.
They fit us in at 4:15 that afternoon. Brent came home from work early to help Sarah and me take the girls to the doctor. All three of the girls were miserable by the time we got to the doctors office and they were burning up.
Our pedi, Dr. Dewbre, came in and checked the girls out and the minute she looked at Baylee's throat she said, "Ahhhh, that's it. She has big blisters on the back of her throat." Dr. Dewbre told us that it is either hand, foot and mouth (which they don't have any blisters on their feet or hands right now) or it is a version of viral herpes (not the STD, folks) that kids can get in their mouths. There isn't really anything they can take for it since it is viral, we pretty much just have to let it run its course and treat the symptoms to keep them hydrated. Dr. Dewbre said that some kids can get it so bad that they don't want to eat or drink anything and can end up in the hospital from dehydration. We don't want that.
We left the doctor's office last night and the girls were just miserable. Brent ran to the pharmacy to get the meds we needed for the girls while Sarah and I took them home to get ready for bed. By the time Brent made it home, Addison and Baylee were asleep in my lap and Reagan was asleep in Sarah's. They were really worn out and hurting but they took a really good bedtime bottle and went right to sleep.
Baylee was the only girl who didn't sleep through the night. She woke up about 8:30 pm and I just didn't have the heart to let her CIO back to sleep since I knew she was probably hurting. So Baylee ended up sleeping with me in the recliner for about two hours until I woke up and put her back to bed and then she was fine the rest of the night.
Today has been so much better for the girls. They are in better moods and Gran is here to help out so they love that. Reagan is the only one not really wanting to drink much today, so I am about to resort to Pedialyte for her bottles to get some good hydration going.
The doctor said it would be about 3-4 days before they would be over it. So far, they are doing really well considering the circumstances. We are just staying inside for the next few days out of the 105 degree heat! Hopefully, they will get over this really fast. Brent reminded me how lucky we have been that the girls have really only been sick a few times their first year and he's right, they have all been in good health for the majority of their first year and we are very thankful for that.
